I have a room booked at the Westin Book Cadillac or other hotel, what should I do?
Take action now to cancel your reservation. To get a full refund of your room, you need to cancel your reservation with the Westin Book Cadillac 48 hours prior to your planned arrival. For many people, that means by Monday, October 15. You are responsible for cancelling your room. Call the hotel directly at (313) 442-1600. Let us know you cancelled your room by adding your name to this list.
I bought a plane ticket. Will you reimburse me?
Unfortunately, no. We cannot offer refunds for travel expenses. We recommend calling your airline as soon as possible to see if you can get a refund or a partial refund.
I don’t know if I can come to the rescheduled conference. Can I get a registration refund?
Yes, for those who are unable to come to the new conference, we will provide refunds. However, we are hopeful that many people will be able to attend our rescheduled conference in spring 2019. Everyone currently registered for the conference will remain registered for the new dates. We understand this may not work for everyone, and for those who are unable to come we will provide refunds. As soon as we have the dates for the new conference, we will let you know and confirm if you are still able to attend. For those who were not already registered for the October Conference, registration will reopen and new folks can register. We will send out that information in the next few weeks.
I am a sponsor. Will my sponsorship transfer over to the spring 2019 conference?
Yes, your sponsorship will transfer to the spring 2019 conference. Thank you for supporting our 2018 conference! Over the next few weeks, we will work to solidify our plans for rescheduling the conference and will be in communication with you about those plans.
I am a speaker, a volunteer, or exhibitor. How will you be sharing information about how the rescheduled spring 2019 conference impacts me?
Thank you for participating to make our conference great! As soon as we have the dates for the new conference, we will let you know and confirm if you are still able to attend. We will also be making an announcement to all current registrants, our listserv, on our website (www.healthylakes.org), and on social media (@healthylakes).
I was previously approved for a travel scholarship and I bought a plane ticket. Can I still apply that money towards that ticket?
Yes, you can apply that money towards your ticket. However, please call your airline as soon as possible to see if you can get a refund or a partial refund. If you still have travel expenses left over after checking with the airline, please let Celia Haven (email@example.com) know and we will cover up to $300 in expenses for those who were already approved for travel scholarships. If you are unsure if you were previously approved for a travel scholarship, please contact Celia.
I’m interested in attending your spring 2019 conference. Where do I find more information?

For those who were not already registered for the October Conference, registration will reopen and new folks can register. We will send out that information in the next few weeks.
I was planning on attending the Tuesday evening joint reception with the Great Lakes Funder Collaborative. Can I still attend that?
If you previously registered separated for this event, yes. The Great Lakes Funder Collaborative at the Gem Theater in Detroit event is still happening. The event is on Tuesday, October 16th, from 5:30-6:30pm. We will NOT be providing transportation between the event and the Westin Book Cadillac hotel. If you are unable to attend this event, please let Diane Schrauth know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
My friends and colleagues are also planning on attending this conference. Have you told them about the changes?
We have notified all conference registrants of the change in plans. Please do spread the word among your networks to help us make sure that everyone receives the information they need with enough time to plan accordingly.
