Senate Proposes Boost to Great Lakes Restoration FundingANN ARBOR, MICH. (October 25, 2019)—U.S. Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and U.S. Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) this week introduced an amendment to a government funding bill that would increase funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) from the current proposed level of $301 million to $320 million.Statement from Healing Our Waters – Great Lakes Director Laura Rubin:“We’ve seen the tremendous impact that the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative has had on communities across the region, but serious threats remain.
