Healthy Waters, Strong Economy: The Benefits of Restoring the Great Lakes Ecosystem

This cost-benefit analysis, conducted by the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program, finds that every $1 investment to improve the health of the Great Lakes will produce almost $2 in economic benefit to the eight-state region of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
