Great Lakes Restoration Projects: Producing Results for People, Communities

The Great Lakes provide drinking water for 30 million people, but they remain threatened by toxic pollution, invasive species, polluted runoff, and habitat destruction. Through federal programs like the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, private businesses and property owners are working together to clean up toxic hot spots, restore fish and wildlife habitat and protect the lakes from invasive species. The report chronicles success stories of restoration throughout the region.
