Coalition: Sen. Stabenow ‘Has Been a Champion for the Great Lakes’
ANN ARBOR, MICH. (January 5, 2023)—U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) announced that she will be retiring at the end of her term in January 2025. The Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition is thanking her for her leadership and dedication to Great Lakes restoration and protection during her tenure in Congress.
Laura Rubin, director of the Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition, said:
“U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow has been a champion for the Great Lakes and the communities that rely on them for their drinking water, jobs, and way of life. Her work has been instrumental in elevating Great Lakes restoration and protection as national priorities and has led to historic investments to confront serious, health-threatening environmental challenges. She has been a tremendous ambassador for the Great Lakes, and her work has benefited millions of people in Michigan and across the region. We thank, and congratulate, Sen. Stabenow on her work to protect and restore our water resources. We look forward to working with her to advance this important work in the remaining two years of her tenure.”
