A New York Times editorial from Monday, August 31 shows enthusiastic support for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. The paper recognized that Barack Obama is the first Great Lakes president since Gerald Ford and for that reason the Great Lakes needs are on the White House radar again. They commend the effort to clean up the lakes and urge lawmakers to do anything and all they can to put us ahead in the fight against pricey invasive species.
