This particular photo comes to us from Joe Harnish of Kentwood, MI. Joe writes:
“This was a picture taken on Bois Blanc Island. I lived on this island 2 years when I was a boy and went to school on the island. At one time it was just me and my brother that attended the entire school. Growing up as a kid I always took for granted the beauty of the island and the tranquility it offered to all of us. Northern Michigan truly is a marvelous place to live. This summer I was lucky enough to spend a week with my family on the island. This picture was taken in front of our house on the beach with a view of the Mackinac Bridge in the background. My son, Alexander Harnish, was so excited to get into the water that we decided to let him swim without his swim suit. I ventured out in the water to show just how shallow the water was.”
